Mr. Carlos Smits has been named Vice President, Talent, and Culture at Meta Materials. Mr. Smits has over 25 years of expertise with some of the world’s most well-known companies to help them improve their people, culture, and scalability. He will be in charge of all human resources operations that support META’s growth, including talent development, leadership training, talent development, learning, diversity, and inclusiveness.
Prior to joining META, Carlos worked at Google as a Talent Acquisition Lead, where he oversaw frontline recruiting, developed people strategies for Google’s AR product area, and mentored the Google for Startups Accelerator’s Women Founders cohort. Carlos formerly worked as the Director of Talent Acquisition at North Inc., a smart Augmented Reality glasses business, where he was crucial in growing the firm to 450 employees, providing full-cycle global recruitment services, and showing new sourcing techniques.
